48 Hours in Venice, Italy

Ciao Bella!

Venice was the first stop on my abroad excursions and it was bellissimo. The clear blue skies and sun kissed hair made that Spaghetti Bolognese more delicious than ever. The Italians are so warm and hospitable. If you're looking for a place to stay the beautiful apartments along the canals are perfect, but my friends and I stayed at the vintage Hotel Saturnia on the most famous street in Venice, Calle Larga.

Here are my absolute favorite Spots of Venezia

1. Piazza San Marco & Saint Mark's Basilica

Saint Mark's square is a master piece. Head to this popular square and feast your eyes on the city’s most famous and opulent  church. The square gets extremely busy and reminiscent of Alfred Hitchcock’s The Birds. There are millions of birds around so be aware! The gilded church gained the status as a symbol of Venetian wealth and power and is also known as Chiesa d’Oro, the Church of Gold. At night you can to listen to the orchestras in the middle of the square. Throughout the square there are adorable antique and luxury shops with murano glass jewelry and gelato shops on every corner.
